“Who influenced you the most in your life?”
“My basketball coach. He taught us not just basketball, but work ethic, dedication, focus, and a lot of other things about life. You know, we were kids, so we messed around a lot, and some guys could have gotten themselves in trouble, maybe with drugs and stuff, so he was the one who sat down with us and just talked… As if we were his own children in a way. He lived in Cavan and would come to Dublin just to coach us and to support his daughter in college in America. He was a really hard-working man, but he smoked a lot unfortunately, and this is how he died a few years ago. He really taught me a lot… My life wouldn’t have been the same without him.”
