“Our parents grew up in the city centre, but they wanted us to have the experience of growing up in the countryside so they bought a small bit of land to build a house on, and while it was being built we lived in a caravan. We had no TV, sometimes no electricity even, so our mother would buy lots of crayons and we’d draw pictures every night. If we finished too early, she’d say ‘draw another, draw another! More colours!’ Not only would she let us draw on the walls of the caravan, but she’d draw with us too… So I think being artists and painting on walls was always pretty natural for us.”
