“Dublin streets at night are a different world to what most people know. Trust me, a lot happens that you wouldn’t want to be around. At the start, I didn’t know how life on the streets worked. I got involved with some bad people, but I thought I was making friends.
Then, one night, a blade was held to my face, they figured out I had a few quid saved up. I was lucky because I know how to fight, and it saved my ass a couple of times already. It’s sad but I learnt that you can’t have friends on the streets.
That’s probably the hardest part of street life, the loneliness… Now I wish I had helped my mother more to stop drinking.”
