“Working for Guinness used to be like working for the government. It was secure! If you got a place, you stayed there for life. I spent 30 years on the power station in there. Nowadays there is no such a thing as security in jobs. You may stay in a position for a couple of years, you get bored of it and you get another one; or a company decides suddenly to send you to a different country… but that’s the way people like it now! One of my sons live in Chicago. I visit him every now and then; he likes it there he says, but I can’t really get my head around it…”
