I’ve been one of the DublinTown ambassadors for almost ten years now

“I used to work in the air-conditioning trade. I spent 16 years installing and fixing them, and I’m not saying I didn’t like it, but I never got to experience how it feels to be really passionate about something. When the recession hit Ireland I was made redundant. A few weeks later I saw an ad in the papers. They were looking for an Ambassador for Dublin. ‘That sounds great!’ I thought.
When I used to install aircon, my favourite part of the job was being able to interact with the customers, and I have always loved my city so I thought the title might fit me well. It didn’t take much to fall in love with the job. I’ve been one of the DublinTown ambassadors for almost ten years now and these ten years have been the greatest in my life.
I wake up every single day with a passion for making a difference in my city. Being an ambassador is not a job, but a mission. I am part of the best events around the city centre and always know what is going on. On the top of this, nothing feels better than when I see lost tourists and being able to help them out and receive that instant gratification. We do just that thousands of times every week. I am proud of my title! When you see me, ask me anything! -or just say hello!”
