“My wedding was a little over sixty years ago but I remember it like it was yesterday. I was going through some family albums and old stuff the other day when I found my wedding shoes. My husband wanted me to throw them away but I said, no way! They are all I have left because I gave my beautiful wedding dress to a charity! He is 93 and I am 84. We both have different interests and we let each other enjoy our time apart as much as we enjoy being together. He loves to play bridge and golf with his mates and I enjoy having tea with my friends and going to auctions. I don’t spend much money I just like the excitement of the place. He likes to go to the pub every now and then and I prefer to go to church. We love cooking together, going for long walks, taking care of our grandchildren and each other. Respect each other’s interests! That’s what my parents taught me and what I taught my children. It seems to work just fine!”
