If you are a chef, and you like being a chef then you must be crazy!

“If you are a chef, and you like being a chef then you must be crazy! It’s a hard job, man! You are working every evening and never have a Friday-Saturday off, 55-60 hours a week, sometimes more… I’ve been doing this for 20 years now, I have no social life apart from the people I work with. I don’t even have a Facebook profile. Like, what would I update it with? ‘I went to work… and now I’m going to sleep’. That’s all I’d ever have to post! My arms are always burnt somewhere… Doesn’t exactly sound like a dream job, does it? Well, guess what? I love it! I love the buzz of it! Some nights you see so many orders on the board that you go: ‘How the hell will we ever finish this?’ But you’re working like crazy, you break your back, and you get in the zone – and when eventually you look up and there is only one doc left… Ahh man! I love that feeling! It seems like I can’t say anything pleasant about my job but still, I can’t imagine doing anything else!”
