I don’t have a job and I have nowhere to go…

“I turned 17 this year. It’s the age where you have to leave the orphanage and you have to make a life for yourself, on your own. I was 16 when I got pregnant and I had a very difficult pregnancy that ended up with a C-section. I don’t have a job and I have nowhere to go… In the next couple of weeks, I will have to make a decision to leave my son in a baby orphanage otherwise I am going to be at risk that the authorities will take him from me. He is everything to me and I don’t want to leave him. I promised myself that I will never leave him, but I cannot get a job and look after him at the same time. The only thing I can think of is that ‘To Children With Love’ wants to help me to take part in a state programme to support me through the next six months. They said I could visit him every day and I could have him back as soon as I’m ready. They also told me that I don’t really have any other choice… I have no idea what is waiting for me but hopefully, I will able to create a life where I will be able to look after him and I will be able to become a real mother that I never had.”
