“I hated secondary school. I had little interest in most subjects and I could barely sit through a class. I was going to an all-girls school where I was bullied, so my school experience wasn’t the best. On top of that, I am the youngest of three, both of my sisters are academic just like my parents. When mum used to pick us up from school she would always ask; “How was school?” I hated getting into the car. While my sisters would say how well they performed and how many ‘A’s they received that day, I would just sit there trying really hard not to exist… I was always the black sheep. For a long time, I wanted to prove that I’m worthy and I tried to fit into the boxes that people opened up for me, but the more I tried, the more I failed. It took a while to realise that I wasn’t as stupid as I felt I was. I just learn in a different way; through play and interaction. You can call it ADD or ADHD but it’s more that everyone is different and everyone deserves a chance to reach their full potential through the way they learn best. I’ve never been so passionate about anything in my life… I work 40 hours as an administrator just to be able to start my next shift as an entrepreneur and work on my own business. I developed an augmented reality children’s book and app which helps children to engage and have fun while learning. I want to create educational products that will deliver important messages to children whether they can sit on their bums or they need to move around.”
