“There aren’t too many opportunities where I am from, back in Brazil. It’s getting very hard to live there, that’s why young people leave as soon as they can. I’m only 18, I arrived a couple of weeks ago. Everything is very new to me and because I don’t have very good English everything I want to do is extremely hard. People say that Brazilians aren’t so welcome in Dublin anymore and that being a (delivery) rider is a dangerous job. I don’t want to do this job for too long, but don’t have any other options. I heard about some riders being attacked and the other day, a guy started to shout at me but I didn’t understand what he was saying. I got scared so I just kept going, it’s all I can do.”
